Take Control of Your Case

I am an attorney, educator, and writer who has been practicing law in Massachusetts for 25 years. I have a J.D. from Yale Law School and a Ph.D. in English Literature from Columbia University. I have worked in large firms, small firms, and in the court system. Most recently, until my retirement in October 2013, I served jointly as Senior Attorney at the Supreme Judicial Court and Deputy Advisor to the Trial Court for Access to Justice Initiat My life as a lawyer is devoted to ensuring that the legal system lives up to the promise of equal justice for all--regardless of economic status, cultural background, education, disabiiity, or other circumstance. I also believe that you don't always need a lawyer to handle your case. Law is our society's common language of rights and responsibilities. That language is--or should be--available to everyone. The more you know, the more you can take control of your case. And your life.
